The study investigates the influence of teacher’s variable on student’s academic achievements in secondary schools in Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State. The methodology employed for this study was considered qualitative because it involved both primary and secondary method of data collection and it contains the best statistical tool of analysis as multi-stage sampling procedure was adopted. The study was guided by four research questions and correlation research design was used in the study. The total numbers of questionnaires distributed were 325 in which 300 were retrieved and 25 were void. Based on the presentation, analysis and interpretation of the data, it was found that majority of secondary schools teachers in Jalingo were professionally qualified. But their teaching was not effective. It was therefore recommended that government should encourage experienced teachers to stay on the job by providing them with more incentives and fringe benefits. The promotional prospect of the teachers should also be improved. The State Ministry of Education should make more efforts in the inspection and monitoring of schools to ensure that teachers stay on the jobs. Keywords: teachers variable, students achievement and secondary school.
The paper investigates the effect of Human Capital Development on the Survival of Small and Medium Size Enterprises in the Northwest Region of Cameroon with specific objectives to examine the effect of on-the-job training, participation in workshops and work experience on the Survival of SMEs in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. The authors adopted the survey research designed, and a census method in which 176 employees from 24 SMEs were studied. Multiple Regression was used for data analysis. The results revealed that Human Capital Development has a significant positive effect on the Survival of SMEs in the Northwest Region of Cameroon with on-the-job training being the critical contributor to SMEs Survival in the Region. We recommend that SMEs should use on-the-job training as the first form of training for the required knowledge, skills and abilities for employees which should be complemented with training from participating in workshops. Keywords: Human Capital Development, SMEs, SMEs Survival.
This present work focuses on the development of resonant converter (DC –DC converter) for solar energy conversion system (SECS). It accentuations on plan and exhibiting periods of the distinctive constituents of the SECS like the rudimentary model of zero voltage switching (ZVS) converter, inverter, fuzzy logic controller, best maximum power point tracking system utilizing MATLAB/Simulink.
Here, a resonant converter represents the static and dynamic characteristics of an actual solar irradiance have been developed for simulation tests. The irradiance and temperature changes circumstances are performed using the resonant converter, which consist of PV system, whose control is implemented using Fuzzy logic control unit and MATLAB/ Simulink. This PV module can achieve maximum power using Perturb & Obserb algorithm.
Under various abnormal conditions like change in irradiance and temperature, step change in irradiance etc. The control system is executed on a fuzzy logic control unit. Speculative outcomes are exhibited utilizing a 200W model of SECS to demonstrate the better aftereffects of the propelled framework and their control under steady-state and dynamic conditions. Keywords: Soft Switching techniques, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), Fuzzy logic controller (FLC), Zero voltage switching (ZVS), Photo voltaic array (PV array).
Drug Tourism is becoming a trend with India's inbound and domestic tourists. Its traveling to another country or place with sole purpose of using the drugs that are illegal or expensive or unavailable in one’s hometown. Hashish of Malan at Himachal, Magic Mushrooms from Kodaikanal, Idukki Gold in Kerala, Bhang and Opium of Rajasthan, Psychedelic drugs in Goa are major drugs or destinations that attracts domestic as well as international tourists. This paper studies the drug tourism in Indian society and Tourist destinations. Also the substance abuse due to drug tourism and effects on local communities and cities. Methods like Participant Observation (Goa, Malana, Kodaikanal, Idukki), In Depth interviews with Tourists and local communities, Open ended Questionnaire and News reports, and articles resulted that Indian working youths and students had traveled once with sole purpose of using drugs. International tourists stayed more days on destinations promoting drugs and Rave parties. Educated unemployed youths (both gender), Stressed working class peoples, Artists, Backpackers are followed the trend. From school kid to senior citizens Drugs had become part of the travel plan . Drug abuses are reported in India that caused by international and domestic tourists. The impact of Drug tourism can be reduced by private, public and community participation activities. Keywords: Drug Tourism, Healthcare, Social risk, Law, Drug Abuse.
Internets of Things (IoT) a modern buzz word which is acquiring the market with its features and quality which converts the traditional world with the automated world. Internet of things has the next big realistic thing which the world was expecting is turning to be a true reality. Internet of things with emergence in every field has led the users to ease their work with less effort and with maximum outcome. The increase in smarts devices and the decrease in the mobile data charges is the sign how the internet of things is penetrating into the markets and how the number of user increasing day after day. Internet of things is making everything things a digital form. Keywords:
Induction Motor Drives (IMD) have been widely used from last many years in various industrial as well as transportation systems i.e. hybrid /electric vehicles, and electric propulsion ships, where variable speed and constant torque with high performance requirements are demanding increasingly. This paper presents an introduction of indirect and direct ac/ac power conversion schemes, various topologies. It presents Comprehensive description of the model of induction motor drive in abc reference frame and then the motor model is derived in arbitrary reference frame using Park’s transformation. The d-q model equations are presented and developed the model in MATLAB/ Simulink. Simulation results of induction motor drive is obtained when three phase balanced supply is applied to three phase induction motor and motor drive is simulated at no load as well as full load conditions. The steady state characteristics of drive under rated voltage and frequency are presented in terms of torque, stator current, input power, developed power and efficiency with respect to speed of the drive. The results demonstrate the versatility of the presented induction motor model. Keywords: Induction Motor, d-q model, Scalar Control.
