Abstract:

This research work focuses on the use of price indices to compare prices of some selected domestics commodities in Taraba state. Secondary data were collected, from the Statistical year book, Taraba State. The data were analyzed using Lasepeyre’s, Pa’asches, Wa’aschs and Kelly’s price indices. In the analysis we observed that there was an increase of about 5.7% in prices of commodities in 2010 also an increase in prices of about 86.31% in 2016 and a little decreases in prices of commodities in 2009, 2011 to 2015.

Abstract:

The advancement of digital technology plays an important role by using the communication strategy such as using smart phone. Today large numbers of people want to try comfortable mode of transport it is easy to use in present day’s consumers using mobile apps to book taxi   available at any time any place in urban areas. In online service, customer retention being considered as the most important construct, also been recognized as a key element. The study done systematic random sampling data were collected from 661 respondents in Coimbatore district. The data analysis of this  study is empirical  was carried out using Independent t-test, One way ANOVA, Multiple Regression Analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling through SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 software.

DOI Number: 10.30780/IJTRS.V3.I10.2018.011
Abstract:

The main attempts of this article to analyse the emerging platform on e-learning in india.SWAYAM is an instrument for self-actualisation providing opportunities for a life-long learning. Here learner can choose from hundreds of courses, virtually every course that is taught at the university / college / school level and these shall be offered by best of the teachers in India and elsewhere. If a student is studying in any college, he/she can transfer the credits earned by taking these courses into their academic record. If you are, working or not working, in school or out of school, SWAYAM presents a unique educational opportunity to expand the horizons of knowledge. In the first phase, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Lal Nehru University, IGNOU, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, Banaras Hindu University, alone as well as with the help of faculty from foreign universities will be offering courses in areas of engineering education, social science, energy, management, basic sciences, India has become one of the few countries in the World which has its own online interactive learning platform that provides, not only video lectures, reading material but also assignments/quizzes that could end up in securing credits after completing the assessment system.

Abstract:

The importance of security to the success of tourist destinations cannot be overemphasized. The security of   tourist more than any other factor determines the failure or success of any given destination irrespective of how attractive the destination may be. Plateau state has experienced series of security challenges since early 21st century. The tourism industry in Plateau has had her fair share of the insecurity, threats and challenges like terrorism, ethno-religious conflicts, communal clashes, armed robbery, petty theft, among others. These challenges have negatively affected the influx of tourists to the area. The aim of the study is to investigate the security measures employed by resorts on the Jos plateau.  Findings of the study revealed among other things that, all the resorts on the Jos Plateau have employed some security measures for protection of lives and properties, and the measures vary from one resorts to another. All resorts either owned by government or private individual must consider the safety of tourists and their properties. Hence it is recommended that the government in Plateau State should provide a peaceful atmosphere for investors to come in so that the tourism industry would boom. All resorts on the Jos Plateau, must improvise effective security measures to curb the alarming insecurity threats to secure the confidence of tourists and investors coming to Plateau Nigeria.

IJTRS-V3-I11-003 :- EFFECT OF RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES ON MIXING PROCESS OF FIG JAM
Author: Entsar N. Mohamed
Organisation: Department of Food Engineering and Packaging, Food Technology Research Institute, Giza, Egypt
Email: entnour@gmail.com
DOI Number: 10.30780/IJTRS.V3.I11.2018.003
Abstract:

Mixing of fig jam during process was examined using flat-bladed impeller. The rheological properties of fig jam (65%) was studied at 85°C the effect of apparent viscosity of fig jam on mixing parameters was investigated. The results revealed that fig jam exhibited non-Newtonian Bingham plastic fluid. An impeller mixer was connected with ammeter in order to predict the power of the mixer at different impeller to vessel diameter (D/T). The relation between power number, blend number, pumping number and Reynolds number were determined at different D/T ratios (0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5).

Keywords: Blend number, mixing of non-Newtonian fluids, mixing parameter, Power number, Pumping number, rheology of fig jam.

Abstract:

Life of any machine elements depends on its wear out rate. Most of working components are fracture and reduce its dimension, due to wear. The main reason of wear out any mechanical component is abrasion, impact, metallic (metal to metal) heat, corrosion etc. Large number of researchers performed experiments on different machines and equipment with different life extension technology, but few of them focused on hard-facing coating technology. Economically use of hard-facing technique depends on type of material used and its chemical composition. Carbon and chromium are the major elements which are used in hard-facing method. It was found that by varying the percentage of carbon and chromium, corrosion and wear resistance can be enhanced. In this paper an attempt has been made to review different hard-facing techniques and materials used for the same and the current research being done.

Keywords: Hardfacing, Wear resistance, Welding parameters, Mechanical properties analysis.
